Bountiful Blessings
January 20,
2013
Good morning. The sun is shining.
Its short sleeve weather. We are heading to the folks house for family day. I
got paid yesterday and I am off of work tomorrow. Doesn’t get much better than
this. J I hope that everything is well with you also!!!
Ok, so I like Bama Light mayonnaise.
Summer likes Kraft with olive oil and Jim likes Hellmans. Summer likes Castiel.
Mary likes Sam and Karen likes Dean. Cindy would never leave the house not all
put together and perfect, and you have to make Chad brush his hair. Monica
likes expensive, name brands whereas Naomi likes a good deal. I would spend my
last dollar on well, anything, and Jim saves up and pays cash for well,
everything. We are all completely different, aren’t we? Its awesome. We have
our own personality traits. We make our own decisions. (Well, most of us,
cough. Cough. MLB) Yes, yes, I promise, I am getting to my point.
Each of you are different. Each of
you brings something to the table. Each of you are special. And for one reason
or another, each of you have passed through my life. Each of you means
something to me. A friend, a family member, a co-worker(friend)… Your taste in
mayonnaise. Your appearance. Your style and your behaviors. They all make you
who you are. Special. You may be the person that I tell all my gripes to. You
may be the person that prints these for me with a smile and a kind word. J Or you may be the person whose
smile brightens my day as we pass in the hallway. You may be the person that
inspires me at work or you may be the person I can run to when I am in trouble.
You may be the person on face book with the uplifting messages at just the
right time. You may be the one who guides me at OES. (Yes, it does sound all
about me, doesn’t it? That is not my point and hopefully I will get there) My
first point is to say “thank you” from the bottom of my heart. Thank
you for being you. I do not know why God led you into my life but I am
thankful to him and to you. When God and I talk, it is not for my possessions
that I thank him for, my blessings can be found in those that read this letter.
You! You are my blessings! Now for the second point, there may be people
who pass through your life that you wish, well, face it, that you really could
have done without. They appear to serve no purpose other than to annoy you, to
irritate you or just plain tick you off. (Immediately someone pops into my
head. Haha.) We are looking at it the wrong way. God doesn’t make mistakes. He
put he/she there for a reason. There was still a lesson to be learned. Oh, it’s
a struggle for me to call her a blessing. But that is exactly what she is. For
through her, I was able to learn some things about myself that need “tweaking”.
So from a complete 360 degrees, I say thank you to her as well. So whether it
is the rude cashier at the fast food place, the ambitious co-worker, the
backstabbing friend, or even the beggar at the gas station, there is something
there. God placed them in that spot to meet you. Why do you think??!!
Prayer for the
week:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for
the many blessings in my life. The people that I love - my family, my friends,
my co-workers. Each of them are special to you and in turn, special to me. May
I always appreciate their differences, their strengths and their weaknesses.
Through them, I am able to see your love, your guidance and your strength.
Thank you, O Lord, for this gift. Thank you for sharing these blessings with
me. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
Thought for
the week:
Please go to
Google and look up the words for “If God were one of us” by Nicole Nordemann
(contemporary christian singer). Gives a completely different take on people
you meet.
Bible Verse
for the week:
Now about
brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been
taught by God to love each other. 1
Thess. 4:9
