2.26.12 my big mouth

Think about how much money is spent in personal “improvement” procedures each year. Here are some incredible statistics:
Cosmetic surgical procedures increased 2 percent, with nearly 1.6 million procedures in 2011. The top five surgical procedures were:
• Breast augmentation (307,000 procedures, up 4 percent)
• Nose reshaping (244,000 procedures, down 3 percent)
• Liposuction (205,000 procedures, up 1 percent)
• Eyelid surgery (196,000 procedures, down 6 percent)
• Facelift (119,000 procedures, up 5 percent)
I think about myself – what would I change? Hmmm…. I am a simple woman. First things that come to mind are braces to correct my teeth and possibly lasik surgery to correct my vision. (Whew – drastic, huh?). Well, of course, being a “fluffy” woman, weight is always an issue. Been there. Done that. That was my venture into plastic surgery – having the lap band. (And how is that working out for you, Terri? You cannot see me but I am hanging my head in shame).  Well, by now, you are wondering what in the world is her point?! Are we going to talk about appearances? Vanity? Nope. Neither one. I am getting to it in my roundabout way. If you could truly offer me one foolproof self improvement procedure, I would ask you to do something about my mouth. No, not reshape it – not plump it up. Nope. Just get it to shut up occasionally. My mouth gets me in more trouble than anything else. It is like it does not have an on and off switch. Just runs constantly. Thank goodness I am not charged by usage. I just think that I am broke now.  J
The Bible gives us many verses about censoring our mouths, keeping our mouths shut or using our mouths to spread lies/gossip/etc…. Yep. I have these all marked in my Bible. My most read and most prayed over verses. So why do you figure I haven’t learned yet???? Sigh. Do you think you could idiot-proof my mouth?  Cause something needs to be done to stop the Terri train wreck. It is always derailing my good intentions.

Bible verse for the week:
“Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.”
Proverbs 21:23 (newer translation, I know. shame on me.)
 Thought for the week:
"It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt"
Mark Twain
