Good morning! So, what are we going to talk about today? Well, about life. Or more specifically, your future plans. Ever feel stuck in a rut? Your job? Your personal life? I “have” worked with people (myself included) who were not happy. Oh, it can be a one day dissatisfaction or it can be a day to day bummer. That is not the way to live. It is not the way God wants us to live. You know that Jimmie Dean sausage commercial? The one where the rainbow is all grey? There is nothing appealing about the rainbow. That is how we are to others when we are moping, sad or angry. How can you witness to others when you are all grey? Only difference is that a sausage sandwich does not light up my life - Jesus does. J
With graduation around the corner, people ask Summer and I - “what are you going to do after graduation?” Summer intends on going to grad school and getting a job. I, sadly, intend on continuing to work. (I have not figured out yet how I can manage living a life of leisure). Other than that, no plans. Oh, we can make all kinds of grandiose plans. But in my personal experience, I am not the one in the pilot seat. “For know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God promises us that he will take care of our future. Yes, sometimes, we humorously think we are in control. You can usually spot those times because when I am flying the plane, there is A LOT of turbulence. I release the wheel and tada, the plane evens out. Oh, do not get me wrong… God never said it would be easy or total smooth flying. No. But he did say that if we pray and release control to him that he would take care of things. What a promise! You have someone in your life who is always there for you, who will always look out for you, who always loves you. Wow. And guess what? That same someone? He is there for me too. J So, to get back to my original point… having a bad day? Tired of your job? Feeling lost? God has a plan. If you pray and ask him to guide you, he will keep you on the right path. He has a purpose for where you are or what you are doing. Trust him.
