Let me tell you a little about my best friend. With my best friend, I can be who I really am. I do not have to put on a happy face; I do not have to pretend everything is ok. I can talk about anything with my best friend. I can cry when I am sad and yell when I am mad. I can tell my best friend all of my secrets, all of my hopes, dreams and desires. My best friend gives me great advice; my best friend is always there for me. I talk with my best friend every day, usually several times a day. My day is not complete unless we talk. My best friend never puts me down or talks behind my back. My best friend is a shoulder to cry on and a comrade in anger. My best friend knows just what to say. Sometimes it is exactly what I want to hear and sometimes it is, well, what I need to hear (not necessarily want). My best friend loves me when my hair is a mess, when I have cried all night, when I wear my sweats in public. My best friend gets disappointed in me but continues to hold my hand and be there for me. Don’t you want a best friend like mine? Sounds perfect, huh? Well, he is and even better, he can be yours. For Jesus loves us all the same. (Well, a visiting pastor at Church of the Highlands told me that I was Jesus’s favorite but we will not go into that right now J). Jesus, my friend, my savior, my Lord.
Thought for the week:
"A part of you has grown in me, and so you see, it's you and me together forever. Never apart, maybe in distance, but never in heart."
Bible Verse for the week:
Romans 5:10
“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.”
