9.22.13 Late Night Rambling.....

Bountiful Blessings

September 22, 2013

Ok, you got me. Busted. Guilty as charged. I am not sitting here drinking my morning coffee, listening to the birds singing. Nope. I am sitting here with eyes closing, watching the clock, ready for bed. Yep. Procrastination. Such an impressive sounding word. Yet, it has such a negative ring. But yep, that’s me. Big time, all out procrastinator. Making tons of lists of things to do instead of just doing them. Well that and I will forget what I am supposed to do. Ugh, just do it already!

I don’t intentionally mean to put things off. I really don’t. I just get overwhelmed. And well, I am kinda lazy. I was sitting here a few minutes ago thinking about what needed to be done. Ok, let’s see….bank deposit, lots of homework this week, Bountiful Blessings to be written, envelopes to be addressed, work on Christmas project, wash dishes, wash a load of clothes, make a grocery list, make a to-do list, and then my mind started wandering. I started thinking about work tomorrow and that I was tired. And before you know it, BAM. Nothing was accomplished. What is wrong with me??!!

(That was a rhetorical question by the way. I was not asking for an answer but hey - thanks for all the comments. Always glad to hear you jump in there.)

Oh, I know what is wrong with me. Every single thing. God and I have lots of long talks about it. And despite my many transgressions, he continues to love me. It’s awesome, isn’t it? Don’t you wish we could do the same for each other? Oops, where was I? Oh yea. See? Mind everywhere but on the task.

Last week I talk about making every second count and here I am one week later piddling away days. Ugh. Frustrating. It makes me feel like a hypocrite. So, by now, you have realized this week doesn’t have this great message to share with you. I considered not sending at all. I didn’t really have a point. (After reading this, you are thinking – no kidding) But as I got ready for bed, I kept getting this nudge. Like a guilty feeling that wouldn’t let me relax. I realized that even if there was no “strong message”, God still wanted me to send it. He wanted you to know that whatever kind of week you are having, whenever it is, wherever you are – He loves you!!!! So….. this week I am just revealing that 1) yes, I am severely and utterly flawed, 2) God loves me anyway, 3) Despite how it sometimes comes across, no Bountiful Blessings is not about me - it is to share thoughts, feelings and a way to show God’s love and that we all share similar issues, 4) God loves you!!!!

Prayer for the week:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for loving me - flaws and all. Thank you for understanding me and allowing me to be me. When everyone else has left my side, you are holding my hand. When everyone else thinks I am having a moment, you are sharing it with me. When everyone else tells me to get over it, you listen and give me support. You are my rock, my support, my teacher, my leader. You, O Lord, are my everything. Thank you for being in my life and for loving me. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Thought for the week:

Get up and get moving! Do not put off for tomorrow what you can do today! J
