Bountiful Blessings
June 24th, 2012
Good morning, fine folks! It has been a blessed weekend. Jim went fishing with Dad. Summer went to visit Wesley with Mika. What does this mean? It means that I got the house all to myself. Oh yea! I miss them, sure. But sometimes it is nice to be alone. I read, cleaned (a little), slept, read some more, ate cereal for a meal, went shopping and then read until bedtime. (I finished four books in less than two days. Awesome!)
Now catch the difference. You can be alone without being lonely. You need to appreciate yourself. Who you are. What you bring to the table. You must first love yourself and all that jazz. Sounds very cliché, doesn’t it? But it is true. You cannot look to someone else for happiness. You will always be disappointed in the long run. Learn to love yourself and then everyone else in your life will be the icing on the cake, an added bonus. Too many people out there look for that one special person to “complete” them. (Im scratching my head at this) Were you broken? The two halves make a whole is crap. You are special! You are amazing! You do not “need” anyone to complete you! Now…. On the other side… having someone special in your life is an amazing gift!!! It will enrich your life and bring it to a higher level. More like, twice as good. Not two halves make one. Why would you want to settle for one? Why would you not want to be 200%?
And most importantly, you are never truly alone. Never. God is ALWAYS there for you. During my quiet time reading my book, he kept an eye on me. As I lay on the floor moaning after drinking that milkshake I shouldn’t have eaten, he stroked my head and comforted me. When I went shopping, he was the quiet voice in my head cautioning me. You want to know who makes me whole? No, not Jim nor Summer (and I so dearly love them). No, God makes me whole. He fills that empty spot within me. Without him in my life, something is missing – an ache, a void.
Bible Verse for the week:
“Am I only a God nearby, ” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? 24 Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. ‘ Jeremiah 23:24
Bible Fun for the week: Its all about location, location, location.
??? 4:19-10
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
??? 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
??? 2:18
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
??? 16:32-33
A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. I have told you these things, so that in my you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart I have overcome the world.
